I have burned PSX copies of this onto good quality Verbatim DataLife Plus Azo CD-R's many times now. I have used the Vimm's Lair rom, the one on CDRomance, and the redump from the rom megathread.
I have used different write speeds.
Every single one of these boots into a black screen on my Playstation that has a Tonyhax memory card.
Wtf is it with this game not working on burned discs, anyone else ever try it? Every other game works perfectly when burned. I have never played this game and would really like to, it looks so cool. No I will not emulate it, it has to be experienced on my CRT tv.

Works fine on my PS2 with a Matrix Infinity.

Well, I'm not talking about PS2 or chipped consoles now. Trying to figure out a way to get this running on softmodded PSX.
Also I forgot to mention, the CDRomance comments section for this game also has several other people saying this does not work on real hardware and only starts up into a black screen. Spike just insists there is nothing wrong with the rom. But there are clearly many people who can not play this on a Playstation, so there must be?

Legacy of Kain is infamous for being built really fucking weird. Most rips of it break something.

Works fine on my MiSTer.

Why? The PC version is vastly superior and is normally like $5 on GOG. the PSX version has a loading pop up every 10.5 seconds during gameplay.

Are you using a European console? I think this is a libcrypt game which makes it a pain in the ass to burn

I just checked and it’s not on sale right now.
If you eventually give up on getting your PSX bootleg working, you can try the GOG version. It is exquisite

Try the european version
CDRomance and Redump for the euro variant match so you'd only need to download one of them, they also both match the PSN version
PSN version isn't available in USA is my understanding and maybe it's a technical reason related to the issues you're having

I stopped pirating because of Steam, but I'll do it again before using some communist alternative store.

I prefer how games look in 240p on a CRT tv, but yeah if I cant get this working on PS1 I will play the PC version.
I also prefer using a controller.

It does not have libcrypt according to redump dot org
Also I am playing NTSC-USA versions on my PAL console, Tonyhax allows that.

To play Blood Omen on PC you need Verok's unoffical patch fo 60fps, PSX animation/walk speed, controller support, and no load times. Otherwise you get 40fps, insanely slow animations, loading (but not as bas as the PSX)

GoG so good tho. They have an actually fixed and fully working version of Harvester
