Don't think so, unfortunately. I think RHDN has some kind of bounty list and it was on it, though.

I think if more people actually new it existed, it would get translated within a few years. Easily one of the better untranslated PS1 games if you're an atmosphere enjoyer. Gameplay's a bit rough around the edges but quite unique as a JRPG, too.

SaGa Frontier on the PS1 had a gross grey mermaid who would join some parties after jumping through some hoops (it's you who jumps through figurative hoops, not the mermaid). The only good thing about her is that she comes with an accessory that absorbs water-element attacks, which makes it much easier to deal with the krakens in the area where you find her. But you can still avoid that by going to that area while your characters are lower "leveled".

i have forced my way through mermanoid a handful of times. the first time was 10 years ago i had bought the game for a friend and figured it would be helpful to learn some of the game first so that i could navigate him through the beginning considering it's all in runes. the second time was last year where i put in about 4-5 hours into the game. i can't say it is exceptional. it is definitely pretty and the pace is what you'd expect being underwater, go figure. only touch this game if you are a sucker for mermaids as this game is mostly an adaptation.

Eh, depends what you want in a game. I played it all the way through a few months ago.

Pros:
>10/10 atmosphere
>10/10 soundtrack
>10/10 setting
>10/10 art, visuals in general are very comfy, though the character models are pretty crappy
>Pretty good writing
>Combat system where you learn new combos is interesting, similar to SaGa in some ways, and the way move speed/turn order works is quite unique among JRPGs
>Generally doesn't require any grinding

Cons:
>Overworld controls SUCK
>Slow, like most PS1 JRPGs. Muh loading times.
>Story has a few parts that feel rushed or underexplained, ie. Martha in general
>You need to know exactly what moves unlock what combos, and even then it's RNG whether you'll get them or not. A guide is mandatory if you want to learn the more powerful moves.
>Has a nasty few difficulty spikes early on

>as this game is mostly an adaptation.
Nah I don't think so. I haven't watched the anime but I've glanced over it and it seems to only share a few setting elements like mermaids and merlions. The game appears to be an original story in a similar universe.

Yeah it woulda been cool if they had put in a mostly hidden second quest or some other kind of secret hard-mode levels, to give skilled players something really interesting to do after breezing through its normal mode, while still presenting the normal mode as the only thing you're really SUPPOSED to go through (because if it were presented as the easy mode then the people the game was primarily aimed at, inept six-year-old girls or whoever, might feel like it wasn't really made for them after all).
