I see things like this and feel bittersweet, there's no way I'd be able to reasonably devote as much time to this as I could as a kid. Too many games I need to play to waste time on something like this. The fact that there's no mobile version that's compatible with modern games is sad.

the Chao are definitely cute and it's a fun little virtual pet, but there's really not that much to do with them after evolving them, playing with them in the VMU, and having them win the small collection of copy pasted races. I wish there was more for them to do.

I had an Angel, Devil, and Chaos Chao. Unfortunately the Chaos Chao had a pumpkin stuck on its head, and I couldn’t get it off. I was in process to make another before I finally got bored. Good times, and lots of waiting.

I never understood the mechanics back when I rented the Adventure games (probably because they never had the manuals or boxart due to ghetto hollywood video), so the most I did was see the Chaos hatch from the eggs. I didn't even know that there were other gardens beyond the defaults, or that you could do the minigames.

Easily quadruple the amount of time i've spend playing the main game, every friend and acquaintance I had owned a chao on my memory card too, but I neglected them all save for my own chao because I just couldn't be bothered leveling the other chaos up.
