It only gets worse, OP.

Maridia is the worst designed part of the game. If you go through the green gate to the quicksand area without all the upgrades then you are trapped forever.

What makes it worse is that the entrance to the green gate room is BEFORE the space jump room, so most players will enter it without getting the actual upgrade they need to bypass it.

The only real way to get trapped in the game is if you glitch your way into the room before Draygon's boss room without the gravity suit, which is basically impossible to do without knowing how to do it. That long fall right before the boss gate can't be escaped without the gravity suit unless you kill Draygon in a stupid specific way that gives you one shinespark after the fight.

I don't play video games to sit through 2 hour tutorials, but I also don't play video games to desperately backtrack and try everything with everything due to lack of indication.
Good challenge:
>Oh, I have new ability X, and the landscape around me indicates I can use this new ability to bypass this room.
Bad challenge:
>Okay, I got an ability, looks like I can't use it here... Okay, using it here takes me to a dead-end. What the fuck do I do? OH I HAVE TO USE IT ON THAT WALL THAT LOOKS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER WALL

I'm playing through the game for the first time and I've personally got stuck in this room. I suppose I've missed something big somewhere, but I've explored everywhere, and shot at practically every wall (I've been stuck at this for weeks), so I guess there's some bullshit hole somewhere that leads to a part my map doesn't display yet.
