Also who the hell sets games on fire? It's a new trend?

>Why print art for a burned game?
So you can easily identify the game from it's case whenever you've stored it. You could always just put a name label on it, but printing cover/spine art is more visually appealing.

It's a cloth map that was sold in '89. I found it in a secondhand shop in Japan. I wish I had a good photo of it to share because I love the neon colors it was printed with. I don't know if this map originally came packaged with the game or what.

>> No.9125467

Nah. I used to have a thing that let me print onto my discs, I used that for a few DC games back in the day. But making cases? Why bother when you can just put them all in a folder or on one of the disc stacks? Too much effort for a larp, the joy of cases is the manual anyway.

Once you get the whole case, disc, and booklet done up it's amazing how it will set off that same dopamine hit that owning the real thing gives. In some cases it even feels a little surreal when you do it with a Japanese game. You feel "what the fuck? how did this get here?" even though you just made it.

Cool thread.

I'm planning on making combination manual/art book/cases for each game in my burnt collection.

>front and back cover are the game's box art
>front of the booklet is the complete manual
>middle part filled with promo and concept art i track down online
>the back is a plastic CD holder glued to the inside of the rear cover

I'm infatuated with the idea right now, and I have the ability to make them, but tracking down the art and etc is what feels daunting. And it's a LOT of games too. So kind of off-putting

A quick look turned up this link for a decent scan of the bottom text. Should be an easy enough swap, it's on most of the Japanese boxes and this one looks to be half decent and not the 300px shit you find everywhere else.

Oh, it's a sick game. The gameplay is pretty straightforward as I'm sure you could guess; it's like Parodius, Darius or Cotton. Great music and artwork, cheesy voice acting and cutscenes.
I haven't played the sequel and honestly didn't even learn that it existed until a year ago, but I can imagine it's pretty good if it's anything like the first one.

Is it worth buying a Mega Drive over? Not on its own. The Mega CD is getting pretty expensive nowadays too. Emulate it first and see what you think about it.
I love the Mega CD but I won't pretend that there are more than like ten games I really care about playing on the thing. If I spoke Japanese I'd probably want to play like five more games on it.

No clue. I don't really know much about Mega Drive clones. M2 is releasing another mini Mega Drive soon that's coming with some Mega CD games but it's not exactly cheap either.
