What's that one retro game you love to death, but no one has ever heard of / no one listens when you tell them to play it?

It use to be Wild Guns and NES Bucky o Hare, but they seem more popular now.

I like to recommended Lost Eden, even if not the best point n click, its got a nice atmosphere.

I feel like the Rocket Knight games still really arnt that recognized by most bandwagon """retro gamers""".

Every saturn owner knows that game, that's why it costs an insane amount of money on ebay.

I was OG Bucky O'Hare NES game fan in 90's while many of my friends couldn't get what's so special about it.
I never saw the cartoon or read the comic though. Don't want to ruin it.

RTS is already a niche genre, but if you're not Warcraft/Starcraft, C&C, or AoE2, nobody gives a shit.

For me it's Blood Gear, which fits very organically into OP's subject matter, mainly because it's yet another clone of the Assault Suit series.
The control scheme is not as versatile as in Metal Warriors or Gun Hazard, but the game still manages to capture many of the aspects that made this kind of game-play interesting.
It's a story driven game similar to Gun Hazard, which was never translated, so it's not surprising that no-one really talks about it.

>no one listens when you tell them to play it
My friends all have shit taste and rarely ever play anything I recommend them.
One guys at least played 1-2 games I told him about, the rest is like "hurr durr 30y old games are shieeeet" and "No I don't pirate the Rom what paying that much for an old ass game??? no way"

All the while preordering deluxe editions of modern trash.

Not my favorite game but I am a huge mecha fan and have played this game to 99% completion (there's one weapon I haven't unlocked, a shotgun, but as far as I can tell NO ONE knows how to unlock that particular weapon).

If I had to pick a favorite no one else I know cares about though...maybe Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge for the SNES? Hands down the BEST Super Scope game bar none, improving on Battle Clash (which was already a good game) 100%.

Have you ever wanted to play something that's not quite Doom, not quite Descent? Do you like shooting alien starships in first person? Do you want to do it from the comfort of DOSBOX?

Look no further than RADIX: BEYOND THE VOID

I remember falling for one of those click bait reviews of "arcade fails". It was mostly odd cabinets and interfaces. Skiing games, horse racing games, it was not about failures just the unique interfaces in arcade games, and really dumb quips. Anyway, they said Prop Cycle could only be beaten by a champion triathlete. I never beat the game, cause there are no continues on the last level. And I was never dedicated enough to put more than two credits into the game each play. I guess I'll never be a triathlete.
