Yes, and it's a girl. I'm leaning towards naming her based on FF or RE cast since they're my favourite series. I always think those people who name their kids on obscure nerd media, or whatever is popular on tv are quite silly. There's data that giving your kid a weird name puts them at a disadvantage in life, up to increasing criminality. But I also think that many video game names totally work because they're normal names and sound nice.

And even the FF cast with some work you can turn them into real names. Cloud becomes Claude, Tifa becomes Tiffany, etc.

Rufus is totally a real name, but it's more common in Europe than America.

There's a difference between naming your children a video game name (Link, Samus, Tidus, Sonic, Nerevar) and naming your kid a name you found in a video game.
Statistically your parents probably picked your name by just looking up the popular baby names for their year. So this seems better than that.

I think you'll find there's correlation between the kinds of parents that give their kids stupid names and bad parenting. I suggest you consider naming your child after a relative. Ask your parents and grandparents about their favorite elders who would otherwise be lost to time. If nothing else, throw one or two in as middle names. As a parent now you're going to start to really appreciate lineage and this is a great way to keep the flame alive. I know a kid called zeppelin after led zeppelin and a girl whose middle name is danger while my kids get a history lesson and connection to their ancestral past with their names.
