Playing remaster Ratchet and Clank, ps2-3 version, new game +. Why it so perfect, awesome weapons, cool gadgets, funny dialogs, not old graphic. Early Insomniac so chads. Do you now some similar games? Exept Jak, Sly and Spyro.

banjo-kazooie could something be you might enjoy.
other than that you can start by looking for 3d platformers if you want to find similar games and go frome there.

I'd do anything for a pc port.
Other anons recommended Skylar & Plux, I've only played about 30-40 mins and it's ok, seems like a dime a dozen platformer though. Maybe give it a pirate.

Any of you fags play Robots? I remember enjoying the demo when I was younger but not sure if was just shovelware.

Whiplash and A Hat In Time.
>>9088713
Exact same situation, I loved the demo but I recently played the actual game. It's a pain in the ass and not as nice as the tutorial suggests. Except for the open areas/levels that still look bright and appealing.

What the movie remake did to Drek was criminal.

True, true. Nefarius in remake so easy, and super easy with collectable RYNO.
Drek in game really hard.

The first game has a lot of those optional paths. Sometimes they even look like the main path like on Eudora or Rilgar.

Ofcourse, I played it. One of my favorite platformers

>> No.9092448

Basing the RYNO around finding collectibles was always a mistake in my opinion. Even playing TOD for the first time I thought it just made it too easy to get it, especially since these games just give you an item that tells you were all the other secrets are.

I'm sure it was 100% the decision of some idiot game designer not wanting to make kids think they have to grind for it, but it worked a lot better having the RYNO as a tangible goal and reward for grinding, instead just staring at the green spots on your level map to get it, and then having the only end-game use for bolts being buying the mega upgrades for all your other weapons (which is already kind of a shitty use for bolts honestly).

I dont remember collect ryno in ToD, lol, only in Nexus, but maybe I just forget.
Yeah, you r right, when I buy ryno in rc1 for 150k I feel some acheveiment.
Now I want ryno2 and zodiac together

Ps2 trilogy better in plot way too, more comedy, gags

Are the cutscenes in these unskippable?
I wanted to try it for the gameplay but in the little gameplay I saw it seems to like to interrupt you with characters I find to be pretty annoying.

Normally the game waits until NG+ before you can skip cutscenes. FWIW I like the cutscenes because of the memorable main characters and NPCs.

The thing i notice most about the ps2 era ratchet is how much clearer the visuals are. The ps3 and onwards games are pretty, but there is so much bloom and particles everywhere that it can make the game alot less clearer. Even with tons of bullets and rockets flying about in the ps2 games, you can still see everything on screen. Compare it to pic related, and its hard to distinguish alot of the enemies from the buildings, even worse when theres explosions.
It even lost its artstyle with the future series, going for a more "realistic" and utterly forgettable look.
Insomnaic pride themselves on listening to the audience and playtesters, notably with changing ratchets character for the second game onwards, its weird to see they continue the pixar knockoff personalities with their newest games.

>>9093095
It's not just bloom or particles, the lighting and color theory are really bad too.
Just look at how easy it is to read the level design in the PS2 version from the sharp contrasts. PS4 version has so many highlights and details that convey nothing for gameplay.
