This was a hot shit among my friends back in the day. Nobody thought it's worse than actual Contra or Super C. The only thing that feels unfinished is optimization, the game lags like hell, but that doesn't do anything to the actual gameplay. We played it just fine and enjoyed it.

Wasn't;t there a JRPG that was an unfinished, buggy mess, that was shat on the Super Famicom? I think it was called Maka Maka, and it was an infamous example of kusoge ("shitty game"). Most kusoge don't release outside of Japan, and Contra Force is a rare example of a kusoge that never released in Japan, but was released overseas.
