It depends on who you play with. It's fun to try with friends, but fightcade has a lot of sweats. They make your favorite game less fun to play because they slap you with a dictionary of info and tech "you should know already". Trying to 1cc bullet hells with a friend sounds like fun since a lot of them get frustrating lol.

I mostly play KOF'98, and sometimes Super Turbo and Real Bout 2. Windjammers is a fun 1v1 non-fighting game to check out.

It's iconic, personally I find it more enjoyable due to it's simplicity. Also I'm not a fan of custom combos.

The whole vs series are just as jank. If anything, they're more jank. Alpha 2 is fun, but people prolly like the super trash because runbacks are quick, matches are fast, o.sagat is in it and bullies people. Alpha 3 is just a borderline anime fighter. All the tech in it make the game not fun to play.
