What are some good Looney Tunes games?

>> No.9023802

I played Road Runner on the 2600 recently and it was kind of cool; super late 1989 release. It's a port of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_Runner_(video_game), I guess should try the other versions too.

There was this Looney Tunes arena fighter game I rented on Xbox as a kid that was great. Also Road Runner on SNES is hard but fun.

Road Runner is a minor character. It is a surprising unique and great game. It is a 3D platformer/puzzle/stealth game.

One is for roadrunner, the other is for Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog cartoons. Don't even think those ever hit the double digits for cartoons (just googled to make sure, they only had 7 shorts) while Road Runner and Coyote got super popular. Sort of amazing they did two similar premises and just ignored Ralph in later years, save for Sheep Raider, which ends up being an actually good game.

I remember playing Space Jam on PSX a long time ago. It feels like one of those yearly-released NBA games but with a Looney Tunes skin and a few quirky minigames thrown in. It's alright if you're into that kind of thing.

Friendly reminder to get the PC version, it works on modern systems, you will just need a wrapper like dgvoodoo to get it to run.

Also make sure to adjust the brightness to 200% to restore the original PS1 visual look, for some reason the default graphics on PC are way too dark and it looks like shit

Carry on

Tried playing this again recently. The controls fucking suck which is a shame because the game had a lot of creative levels. I can't even get pass the tutorial level because the jumping physics are utter trash.

>Road Runner is a minor character.

Road Runner was the OG Sonic the Hedgehog. Road Runner has actually been one of the more popular WB characters in the past, even though the character itself doesn't really showcase much of a personality. Wile E. Coyote would carry most of the Road Runner cartoons.

I use to watch this cartoon on a cartoon channel in Canada called 'Telletoon Retro'. The Road Runner show was mostly a collection of old Looney Tunes shorts, just like The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show.

>just going off of what I watched in syndication it feels like roadrunner and coyote were only second behind bugs in how prolific they were.

The popularity of different Looney Tunes characters would change over time. Porky Pig and Daffy Duck were the first two Looney Tunes popular characters. Bugs Bunny was an evolution of a previous character named Happy Rabbit. Tex Avery fleshed the main personality traits/ tropes for Bugs (and Elmer Fudd) with the short : A Wild Hare. The Tex Avery version of Bugs became more popular than Daffy or Porky Pig. When Chuck Jones mostly took charge of Bugs Bunny, he changed Daffy's personality to be jealous of the success of Bugs. Re-purposing Daffy as a rival. Road Runner and Wile. E. Coyote were created by Chuck Jones and were later additions to the Looney Tunes roster. They became quite popular in the 50's and 1960's. There was more nostalgia for the Road Runner in later decades, because they were fresher in peoples minds back then. Sylvester and Tweety always had quite a bit of popularity as well.

Yeah, Porky Pig was the original star of the Looney Tunes, Daffy was second one to become popular.
