What's some great console duos to own?

PLAY-CAST

The ultimate mix of story driven games and arcade orientated games

>> No.9014837

For me, it's the GameCast:

All of them. I don't think I have any console I don't own at least two of.

Saturn Station, best of both worlds with top class and beautiful 3D games, shit heaps of excellent 2D games and fighters especially. No genres missed.

NES+Mega Drive
Both have good amount of exclusives that are actual games, no ports, rpg or VN

You mount these both in an arcade cabinet with a multi-console board you've got many, many, many options and it's all normie friendly because it controls just like the console.

>> No.9015283

I'd go for WiiStation 2 with GC controller
>tons of obscure japshit
>better multiplats than just PS2
>better controller than just PS2
>can play/emulate most of tendie first-party classics near perfectly
>240p kino on both systems
>best light gun game library when combined
>emulators are still being worked on

>>9015283
I agree with this, I also have a dream cast and Xbox but hardly use them. wii is awesome for emulating everything pre Saturn

Considering only a system's library and only retro systems then SNES+PS2 but since there are faggots defending the fucking wii here because of emulation then a powerful modern PC + A powerful for the time dual booting Windows 98/XP PC to play everything without being a zoomer faggot

The patrician choice.
-chads prefer handhelds
-five great generations (ps1, psp, gba, gb, gbc)
-great ports of console games (nes, snes,
-tons of homebrew and emulation possibilities
-original hardware

kek this one time I was talking to a buddy who grew up in the hood and he was telling me about the video games he played back then and he told me he wanted a GameCast at one point, at which point I laughed thinking he was referencing the movie, but he was like "why are you laughing", so I was like "you know, from Malibu's Most Wanted?" and I recounted the scene, and then HE started laughing his ass off and was like "OH YEAH fuck I made the same mistake!"

all i remember is the audio latency was a bit buggy. are you using the PSP GO to emulate GBA?

>> No.9016727

>>9016721
I've used a 2000 and a 3000. Both of them had noticeable frameskipping in most action games. Not a big deal for turn based games like I said though. I've used gpSP kai and tempgba, they're pretty similar in terms of compatibility and performance. It goes without saying that I was using 333/166 clocks, too.
>audio latency
Thanks for reminding me of that, that was a pain in the ass too. Have to restart the emulator every once in a while.

Pretty rad choice. I actually am sad I got rid of my GBA SP and PSP years ago, I never played handhelds on the go and got distracted by other things. Kinda wish I had kept all my OG hardware for that era.

>>9014804
For me, it was CUBESTATION2 or SNESTATION. Get my Nintendo first party fix and the wide catalogs of Playstation, plus having a DVD player in the PS2 era. I kinda held onto that mindset through the years, now it's PS5/Switchlite.

>> No.9017039

Honestly a wii with a dual boot PC would be good.
but for nostalgic gaming the snes and the gameboy was the best pairing for original hardware back in the day.
>play street fighter 2 before school
>bring castlevania 2 for gameboy to school
>finish CV2 on the super game boy.
>invite friend over to play street fighter 2 more because the world isnt fucking aids yet.

If you want to play different region games then the PS2 (the models with the built in PS1 hardware only) is a better option because you cant play them on full speed on a PS1.

You can, but the timing is slightly off. It can result in a rolling picture and reportedly some games like DDR have gameplay synchronization issues.
