Which are the best Bomberman games?

I've heard that this one and the three on N64 are good.

Bomberman 64 is the best 3D Bomberman, but yes all the N64 ones are good.
I dont know what's the best classic-style Bomberman, just play them all. Also play Bomberman Fantasy Race. Just accept bomberman is the best.

All the 2D Bomberman games past the super series are more or less the same. Saturn probably has the best aesthetics. I still like the super series the most, as well as 93 and 94

I love Bomberman Tournament on the GBA. Probably the best zelda-like Bomberman game.

There is a fourth N64 game released in Japan in 2001 called Bomberman 64 (the 1997 game we call that is called Baku Bomberman in Japan), which is the last N64 game ever, but I haven't played much of it to tell you if it's great. All I can say is it has that 2000's Bomberman Land aesthetic that puts me off, but that's admittedly a superficial reason to dislike it.
Outside of the ones mentioned, I'll add Bomberman Generation on GameCube. It's probably the best game with the Charaboms.

I liked Bomberman Hero a lot as a kid, although the gameplay is a bit weird, sort of like an on-rails platformer. It has the best breakbeat soundtrack I've ever heard in a game.

Bomberman Portable is a criminally overlooked "best-of" 90's Bomberman, but special mention has to go to picrel's other, JPN-only PSP game for being just so strange (wouldn't say it's as good as Portable though, just different, it even has some gameplay simiarities with the new Bombergirl).

If PSP isn't retro then I'm bringing up Bomber Boy on Game Boy too, it's both a port and an interesting sequel to NES Bomber Man, and it's the first game in the series with linked battle mode.

I liked Mega Bomberman (Just Bomberman 94's battle mode) on the Genesis. I also like Bomberman Hero, Bomberman 64, and admittedly Atomic Bomberman. Atomic wasn't the best, but it was still good and Interplay did a good job with it. Which is why I have no idea who at literally Hudson thought it was a good idea to make Bomberman Zero.
