As a plus the show is really showing off that the PC-Engine had a really solid library, and showing off games westerners would never care for. Marchen Maze is a game I never heard of and has never shown up on any PC Engine lists, but it's pretty solid arcade port. There's also a bunch of games like adventure or quiz titles that are ignored by English PC Engine fans, despite them being solid titles.

There's a Saturn game that is a kind of quasi unofficial sequel to Marchen Maze as well. Spiritual successor if you will.

I hope they don't outright tell him. I hope they tell him to keep playing and to keep exploring. I'm certain that he would have either missed the dark bat cave, or he explored everything but didn't use the two rings.

But relistically they have like 3 more major Castlevania games left to do before Symphony. I do hope they do Simon's Quest if anything just to see how a native Japanese handles the hints and puzzles in the game. They also have to do Super Castlevania and Sharp X6800 Castlevania, which was released for the PS making it easy to play. They tend to avoid PC games for home console ports.

Given the length of the game and since it's Arino where he'll just die repeatively and lose progress, they'll give him some major hints, if not outright tell him to keep things moving. Since the one thing that would fuck up a metroidvania broadcast is getting lost.
I have a feeling that during the super metroid stream, they were giving him hints on where to go, but not airing those, since some of the back tracking there is not intuitive.

The show has some weird biases, and seems to favor Famicom, SuFami, and PCE, and I don't think anyone on-staff are actual retro game experts. The ADs are fresh uni graduates who never grew up on any of these games. Arino is a casual Nintendo only gamer.

I have in fact recommended a few saturn games over the last 2 years. I hope some of them make it to the show. Enemy Zero is the semi quasi sequel to D so it's possible.

Oh, also meant to add it seems some of the background guys are pretty into retro stuff, they have someone who seems to know his way around repairs and the nuances of the old consoles at least. The one AD who played Sonic and Final Fight seemed to be into it too, he had his own set of NeoGeo arcade sticks etc for example.
I still find it strange that they use that LCD monitor for some reason, when earlier seasons they seemed to use CRTs (and brought a CRT out for the HOTD episode). Just seems easier/better quality for the sort of show they're doing, although I can understand if they have to transport it, it's probably too hard.
