Did you like Carmageddon /vr/?

I thought the first two games were insane, easily my favourite combat car games ever made. I loved the sandbox open world, the amazing level design, the stellar gameplay, the power-ups and physics that all combined together to create an incredible sense of freedom. I'd argue that both games are extremely underrated and unfortunately seem to be forgotten for the most part.

I have very high hopes for the upcoming Carmageddon game. Really can't wait for it, hope it blows my head off and will be a return to form. It's been far too long.

It probably won't be good going by the track record of the current gen's big budget retro revivals... it's probably going to be ridiculously easy, handholding, arrows on the road to locate targets, feature a gruff male main character with a dark past, and tacked on multiplayer. And season pass dlc

mark my words

Did anyone not.like Carmageddon? Also:
>get demo on one of those CDs with hundreds of games on it
>that damn demo time limit
>that glorious day when I found a trainer that removed it.

I love Carmageddon ! One of my most played games as a kid, I'd spend tons of times replaying every level. I loved tracking down every single civilian in the map.

>that replay feature

I re-bought it off GOG half a year months ago because it came with the add-on (Spat Pack) of which I only ever played the one level demo.
However I was quite disappointed by it because most new levels are actually not interesting in terms of level design because they are short and simple.
There are still a couple of new interesting stages and the new cars, civilians and sheep still makes it worth playing.

I doubt it. Throughout development they've been asking for feedback from their loyalest fanbase i.e. the guys who frequent the Carmageddon message boards etc. It started off as a kickstarter funded by those guys. I just don't see the developers kicking those guys in the balls after that.

This is gonna be a game true its roots, I bet my left nut on it. There might be DLC at some point, but I bet it's gonna be a beefy game to begin with as well. Stainless are in position to piss people off right now as Carmageddon is far from a mainstream title. The very best they can hope for is satisfying their original fanbase. If they piss them off then it's guaranteed that nobody will buy the game and they'll be damned.

How to get Carma 2 working properly under Win 7? The closest I've managed is to get it runing without sound, and very unstable - sometimes the game crashes 10 seconds into a race, sometimes when a big vehicle slams fast into something, sometimes when I finish a race and then try starting another.

I never played it unfortunately. Didn't have a decent enough PC for it when it was released and never got round to it. Heard it was really bad though.

Could've been actually at least somewhat good if the timer wasn't so fucking retarded.

whats the deal with the timer?

I just checked out a couple of gameplay vids on youtube and it seemed like a lot of fun. From these I don't understand why it apparently bombed so badly... enough to kill the series...

Getting more time does not help much as the timer will not increase after 4 minutes are reached.

I see... hmm...

Guess that kills the exploration factor. It was one of the best parts of the game.

Not only the exploration factor. The amount of time you get for crashing into an opponent was severely reduced too. No more "head on collision; +2 minutes". No, now you must race through checkpoints.
