$60 dollars back in 1990 was about $35. Games a monstrously cheaper now then back then. At those prices it's no wonder toys got stamped out. You bought a game for your kid and that was all he probably got for months on end at those costs.

Pause/unpause at different speeds.
At the highest setting it actually lowered the speed of the game by 40% and provided very fluid action on fightan games.

I'm not even trolling, I was able to perfect hardest difficulty M.Bison on SSFII using the slow mo. I was 8 back then, I think.

Turbo above worked the same, it allowed you to press the button very fast, I only used it to cheat mortal combat "test your might" bonuses because I fucked up one of my other controllers for the button mashing.

Stick was decent overall, compared to the normal controllers it was almost glorious...
and then my cousin destroyed the controller for no good reason.

You guys are beyond trippin.

>stupid ass way to execute Spin Kick
In exchange for added length of invulnerability and doing 8 punches worth of dmg a hit instead of 1.
>does not work even if you do it right
Wrong; the manual is just misleading, which is a valid point. How you do the maneuver is by pressing away, then forward, then atk, in a quick sequence; each press has to be independent, so you don't press anything together. Monster Rick's is back, forward, back, atk and not only does more dmg (double iirc, which is about triple what it does in JP), but also doesn't use up your power meter like in JP. And yes: Perhaps accounting for that, enemies past the first scrubby drones do a considerable amount of damage to you, so you have incentive to take advantage of your moves. I wouldn't necessarily say it's harder tho, because doing the JP stages in time is tricky when enemies take so many hits, even if they are killing you less often. Guess it depends on what one means by 'beating the game'.

As for being the worst of the three, I am more in-line with >>897157. The game plays more like a beatemup and less like a platformer (and let's be real: The platforming in Splatterhouse was never much to speak of) with added horror elements in terms of stressing you with the time limit to find the quickest way through each maze. Your wife and child's lives are on the line, and the game does a fair job of making you feel like shit if you fail. Best imo.

Yes, there was a Pole Position show, but its story wasn't related to the game at all (two crime-fighting kids with talking supercars like in Knight Rider). I watched it as a kid and can remember the theme song to this day, even though the show was never good as the opening animation made it seem.

BTW D&D cartoon was incredible, and Muppet Babies was my favorite of them all.
