Bomberman 2 for the NES is fun. It seems like it was the real turning point before Super Bomberman, introducing several things that would become commonplace in the series later, and it's pretty short and simple.

Alright listen up because I'm only saying this once. Bomberman GB in Japan became dolled up as Wario Blast in the west to draw more sales but it's 99% the same game, they just made one of two graphic swap modes where you're either Bomberman against Warios or Wario against Bombermen (retarded I know). So when Bomberman GB2 came in the wrst, it was renamed Bomberman GB, but you're fucked if you confused it with the original Japanese Bomberman GB. Then there's Bomberman GB3, which introduces a villain related to Bagular named Devil Bomber who reappears in Bomberman Hero as the true final boss, but he was renamed Evil Bomber in the west because le christians, but that game was Japan only and the westoids barely knew who Bagular was for other reasons (namely his name fuckery and Super 3 being PAL omg). By the way, these aren't even the only Bomberman games on Game Boy - there's also Bomber Boy, a half-port, half-sequel of the NES Bomberman, and the first game in the series to have a form of multiplayer mode via link cable. Know what they called it in America? Atomic Punk, which shares a name with Irem's arcade Bomberman. Know what they called it in Europe? Dynablaster, which shares its name with Irem's arcade Bomberman, PAL Bomberman II for NES, home computer ports of the first TurboGrafx-16 game (as Dyna Blaster), and an unlicensed Bomberman knockoff that scalped the trademark from Hudson/Konami. What the FUCK.

Wario Blast is the American renaming of Bomberman GB from Japan. (And bomberman GB in America is Bomberman GB 2).

It's okay. It's single player and like a simulated version of the multiplayer battle mode, but with a large level sized field instead of the typical battle mode grid. Bomberman GB 3 is the best in the GB series.
