How come no one told me this game was fucking awesome? I had it in my head that this was just some throwaway shovelware. Had no clue it was by a Japanese team. It's giving me really strong Nights vibes

Not really. Microsoft wanted it to be one because until Halo took off they didn't have a mascot they could use to sell consoles but when Blinx came out it had a fairly mediocre reception. It's a good game in spite of that, honestly think a lot of the hate came from the fact it tried to do the animal with tude mascot character long after that fad died out.

They gave it much more story focus, tried to make it edgier (not Shadow the Hedgehog edgy or anything, but still), and had two clashing gameplay styles that if I'm not mistaken were developed by completely different teams. Neither side of the game is as polished as Blinx 1 is either

japanese suck at making games, the good thing is that the designs are by the same guy behind Sonic the Hedgehog, once you know that you can really see it !

one of my favorite games on the Xbox, i played this shit religiously, the music, the graphics, it was way too good to just be forgotten.
