no, I didn't. there has never been a single good licensed game. they are creatively bankrupt from the outset. the only decent licensed game ever made was Riddick and even that turned into a gay prison porn.

video games are video games you elitist fuck.
just because it's got some license behind it doesn't make it automatically a terrible game
you sound like you have a wall of games you've never played, virgin.

yes it does.
>you sound like you have a wall of games you've never played, virgin.
ironic coming from the one who plays shovelware. I am a discerning man with discerning tastes and I would never think to clutter my living space with licensed tripe. a small box containing the all time greats is all I need.

They're called beltroids, a portmanteau of belt-action (what Japan calls beat 'em ups) and Metroid (due to the adventure/upgrading elements).

I think this is a special game since it does literally run on DMC1's engine and I believe also has some of the same staff.

I can just see it now: you walk into the store; a musty odor composed of plastic, skin, breath and rot fills the air -- but you don't mind it, you find it almost comfortably familiar. as you take in the sight of the disheveled offerings before you, your bulbous, veiny eyes widen, you begin to lightly scratch at your beard and adjust your glasses, simultaneously clearing your throat in anticipation of the dire social situation before you. the store owner, garbed in an anime shirt and a cheesemaker hat, and fixed with a long, elegant, pony tail, greets you, and asks if you know what you're looking for. you whisper softly that you're only there to browse, and the man thanks you for your time and offers further help if needed. as you gracefully escape this uncomfortable exchange, you begin to peruse the meandering halls of this forlorne library, searching for... "the one". armed with only $40 (enough for a game, and perhaps a bit of Chic Fil-A on the way home), you desperately search for this elusive title -- that which hearken to your soul. you skim over the selection, lightly stroking your hand against the odd box, when suddenly you are taken aback. "there it is", you think. not just a game -- the game. the, "one". you place your hand upon the treasure and remove it from its place, feasting your eyes upon the images and runes laid out over its surface. the game is none other than "The Sopranos: Road to Respect", for Sony Playstation 2. this is it. this is the moment. in your hands you hold that which your heart desires: not just a game, but an experience. a cinematic experience. an experience which calls upon the fond memories of its source material, instantly regaling you with its visage, and enchanting you with the thought of once again visiting the charmers characters and locales you once knew.

in that moment, you are free.
