Why was there never a sequel? Why is the best rhythm game of all time basically completely ignored outside of a couple of turbo-fans?

I think it gets respect. I mostly just like the art. As far as rhythm games go I think I'd prefer to play like a beatmania ps2 game or popn music but this is cool. Wish it was still 5 dollars

I really have no idea. I’m glad it at least got a nice PSP port. One of my favorite games.
I have San Bone Trio stuck in my head again now.

I was excited about the Parappa/Gitaroo Man guys kickstarting a new rhythm game until I saw it was more like Parappa than GM.

Too bad it had a shit setting of feudal japan and furries and the kickstarter failed tremendously because it resembled nothing of what people liked from gitaroo or parappa.

Remember: if you're playing the American version, they renamed Japan's "Easy" and "Normal" to America's "Normal" and "Hard" respectively. You're basically going from the wading pool to the deep end.

ebin quirky games died on PS. ask Sega how their quirky stuff sold on DC. PS2 was a Dynasty Warriors machine in Japan

it's actually good and requires both taste and skill to appreciate, so redditors get filtered hard by it.
