Does a single more convinient solution for emulating /vr/ games on an HD TV exist?

>automatic headphone support with the controller
>Ps2 and GC/Wii able to run fullspeed most of the time
>Can easily run CRT filters

This thing is a godsend

I have a real CRT but its a pain in the ass to plug every system separate, I don’t like the controllers for some systems and I can’t use headphones with it

Besides using a switcher you could always get wireless headphones paired with the switch. There is either Bluetooth or radio style.

It seems like PS2 is a nightmare to get going, but I've been using it for duckstation and it's been amazing.

They recently banned a whole fuckton of people that were abusing dev account for sideloading which is violating their terms of service.
Anyone got updates to that story?

>> No.8929901

>>8929896
I don't think that's true. I heard that they disabled dev access and then re-enabled it later, claiming it was a mistake.

Either way, you don't need to use a dev account.

Are switchers really that hard to use?
I have pretty much all consoles from the NES up to the Wii and PS2 plugged in, all with flash carts and ODE’s

switchers are fine for digital video but i've always found they suck for analog.

Seriously? Is it easy/safe to get emulators running? I was legit thinking of getting a Series S earlier today and I didn't even know anything about emulation. That's a definite buy if it's that easy

Thanks anon. I find myself playing old vidya more often than new trash so a machine that doubles as a way for me to not have to screw around plugging my laptop into the TV is an immediate sell, on top of all the other reasons I already wanted one

I'm sure once you get a Series S set up, it's the perfect emulation box next to lugging your actual desktop and plugging it into your TV.

I used a Raspberry Pi 3 back in 2016. Was a pain to set up because I wasn't too familiar with Retropie and Retroarch at the time. Controller bindings were annoying, hated the Xbox 360 controller, and the 8BitDo setup would never connect via x-input. Stopped using it because I got frustrated and decided to set it up as a DreamPi for my DC.

I then bought a PS Classic when they were on sale for $35 in the summer of 2019. Performance wise, they're basically the same as a Pi 3. The default PS1 emulator is dogshit. The controllers are great, and work exactly as they should. It's piss easy to set up. I load it directly into Retroarch when I use it. I was also given a SNES Classic which I modded, but never use. It has a limited amount of space, so I just ended up hacking it with NES and GB/GBC games.

I also stream my desktop to my living room TV through my Steam Link. Input lag is noticeable, but I can kind of adjust to it. I play slower-paced games on it anyway.

>Why yes, I do spend more time messing with gadgets and menus than playing the games. How could you tell?

>> No.8930385

>>8930358
I had a similar experience

>first do a desktop plugged to my TV with launchbox
>had issues with saving, input lag and performance issues, with even slowdown in the menu

>also had psclassic with retroarch up to SNES/PS1
>no analogue on the ps1 classic controller
>the ps4 psclassic adapter had issues with setting up dual analogue
>had weird compatibility with USB extenders

>didnt bother much with my snes classic because it was JP import and was too lazy to load games without a direct USB

Series S is the way to go, everything is preconfigured out the box, you just need bios files and thats it.

I'll probably pick up a Series X during the holiday season if I can find one, since I have a bunch of OG Xbox games that are compatible.

It'd be okay if it was CRT output friendly, as it stands it's mediocre marginally cheaper PC for low quality displays which will be supported for 3 years tops and abandoned like all console ports of emulators.
