My nigga

Do what he said minus the killing part but have some more fun with it. Instead of a outrageous number...offer him something that's a little above normal price+ a little more. Enough to get him interested.

You can even be like, dude you are WAY under pricing that, it's really worth (blah blah blah). Come to an agreement on the price. Set up a time to meet. When you meet, look at the disc to inspect it first. Break it in half and say "Oh this is a fake, a real copy wouldn't have done that. Sorry I'm not interested" and walk away.

On the note of Craiglists, is there really any way to have shit shipped to your house that won't involve you getting scammed to high hell? Preferably a method that doesn't utilize Paypal, since I haven't had very good dealings with them in the past. Does Craiglist even have any sort of buyer protection?

There are plenty of good deals that are JUST out of my area...and they aren't really good deals anymore when I have to spend a fuckton on gas.

>> No.891703

>>891685
Craigslist requires extremely fast action, or following up on mystery postings by possible weirdos. Do you have a watcher program set up?

Remember, there are tons of people also watching Craigslist for opportunities. Even if you're the first caller you can still be sniped. When you find something at a yard sale or a thrift store you're the discoverer and you buy it right then. On Craigslist, strange forces are afoot.

>> No.891714

>>891693
Craigslist specifically says on every page not to enter into deals that involve shipping. Despite that fact, I have gotten people to ship to me. Why did you have a problem with Paypal? It's the only way to get buyer protection on sites like that or forums like this one.

Same with me on Kijiji. It just depends on how cooperative people are and if they have had any experience with Paypal/a computer. That's how I got a complete copy of Shining Force: the Sword of Hajya for $20 inc shipping. I saw another guy selling a mint Iron Man XO Man-o-war for GG for $20 too, but no response on this "please ship to me" email :(

>> No.891746

>>891714
Its just always been a massive hassle for me. On top of the fees and other shit, it always fucking suspends or limits my account for stupid shit like logging on to Paypal from my laptop as opposed to my desktop, even in the same home. Most recently, it SEVERELY limited my account because I accidentally put my birthday in wrong while trying to redeem one of those Moneypak things (I'm just so used to putting in some random bullshit birthday for those age limit things on websites), and it wants me to do all sorts of stupid shit like send in photocopies of my birth certificate and driver's license, all because I tried to PUT money into my account (that only had 3 dollars in it to begin with; thanks for protecting it so well, Paypal!).

I just don't want to give any business to those fucks. That being said, surely there are some alternatives? What about amazonpayments?

>> No.891754

>>891746
>it wants me to do all sorts of stupid shit like send in photocopies of my birth certificate and driver's license

I think it wanted me to do shit like this when I wanted to change the name on my account. Years ago when I let my sister use my account once, somehow it ended up with her name on the account, even though my bank account and credit card are linked to it. It won't let me change the fucking first name without jumping through a shitload of hoops. It's not really that big of a problem, but it still irks me. I think I actually called them once, and they gave me the fucking runaround and never actually did anything about it.

>> No.891764

>>891754
Yeah, man. I mean, I understand they want you to feel secure about your money, but fucking hell, I think suspending my account with 3 dollars in it because I tried to ADD money to it is a bit extreme.

It would be nice if amazonpayments was a good alternative, but it's a shame that Paypal is owned by eBay and you're now FORCED to use Paypal for all transactions on it.

I got megaman x2 for $4 at a flea market along with a bunch of 40-60 snes games for around $4 each.

I got all 6 mega man NES games, along with Adventure island 1,2,3 TMNT 1,2,3 and 20 other good titles for $70.

I find deals like that on craigslist all the time as well and at flea markets. The worst part is trying to sell something on craigslist and have every reseller and tightwad trying to tell you that you're selling your shit for too much.

If people go to the trouble of sending you an email that your prices are high reply with a thanks for letting you have a copy of their email address so you can block it.

Some guy today offered me $60 for a lot thats worth well over $100 even with me pricing things lower than market value. He said it was because It was higher than his utility costs. He said my prices were fair then in the next line proceeded to say they needed adjusting.

I then came to the assumption that he was a reseller and told him if he wanted $2 games to go to a garage sale.

Then he tried giving me a tutorial about how to sell on ebay.

It's like seeing something posted for like $9999 on Amazon or something. You know no one's willing to pay that much (or in OP's case, sell for so little), so it can't be a legitimate attempt to sell it. More like they're just bragging that they have it.

Because people expect prices on ebay to be absurdly high. Some people treat craigslist and kijiji like it's offline ebay-- which it's not. Prices should be lower than ebay and retail on those sites, and where I live that's almost never the case. So yeah, it is bullshit in some regards.

Like people think saving me $5 on shipping costs is worth me going out of my way to meet you. Whoop-de-fuckin'-do

I dunno, I don't mind people making offers even if they're pretty low I just don't reply. That's Craigslist for you. I do like when peoplewant to trade though you can get people making crazy trades to get what they want and it's easier to trade through Craigslisr for sure.

>>892172
People post crazy high prices like thatto drive up demand or artificially inflate values. That whey when they offer that $9999 item for $4500 later it will seem more reasonable. Maybe even irresistible to a certain person who's been lusting for it. It's like The DuPont Registry.

>>892351
There are a lot of people that just don't want to use eBay for one reason or another. We had one earlier in this thread. I know quite a few people in person who are like that so,in many cases, people like that will pay MORE than eBay prices to be able to inspect the item and/or meet the seller and/or pay cash - especially in categories that particularly draw those kind of people, or for heavy items like arcade cabs.
