No, I had a copy as a kid and it was unironically one of my favorite 2600 games. Didn't hear about the whole landfill thing until I was an adult. Compared to some of the ultra simple games of the time, ET actually had atmosphere and a sense of mystery on figuring out exactly what the hell you were supposed to do.
