Do you think it's possible that someone could go back and fix this game?

Maybe make it less shitty?

Why? I enjoyed the game fine as is.

Just needs a slightly better presentation. Lightgun games have a very low bar for being fun.

Fix it? But it's great
have you tried playing it instead of just repeating what you've heard on youtube?

Light gun games were a product of the arcade and should have stayed there.

I once gave a friend of mine my PS1 and he returned it with a bootleg copy of Gun Survivor. It had a 3D render of Leon from RE2 slapped on a blue background. Like something straight out of a creepypasta. Bootleg PS1 games are not uncommon where I live, far from it, but still weird

It's just a flawed concept from the get go. Take classic Resident Evil but remove a lot of what makes classic Resident Evil good (pre-rendered backgrounds, the location being a big puzzle box, any sense of atmosphere) and just reuse all the assets from 2.
I rented it on release, finished it in about an hour and returned it the same day. It's just not very good.

The Chinese tried to turn it into a full on PC version where you can move and shoot at the same time, but alas it's an unfinished broken mess in which the AI barely works.

The main issues with the game are
>no locational damage (no headshots or anything)
>all you need to do to be immune is to turn your back to enemies

> finished it in about an hour

You have barely seen 33% of the game's content. The game is full of multipaths, some of which I only found out about 15 years after first getting the game. Between that and the NG+, the game is designed to be replayed again and again.

I mean Dead Aim was actually pretty cool, so someone working on these things has an okay idea or two.

Honestly, give this game a graphic overhaul, give the players the option to not have tank controls, and fix the bugs and jankiness, and you'd have yourself a nice RE FPS game.

After all, I like to think that this game was the predecessor towards games like RE: Darkside Chronicles and RE 7 and 8.

It just needed some more love, care, and attention put into it.

This is from the Wiki of this game:

>whereas light-gun compatibility was removed from the North American release due to shooting games being partly blamed for the motivation of the then-recent Columbine High School massacre.

This game would've been slightly more bearable had the feature not been removed because of two white kids.

Yes, actually. I believe every RE spin-off could be pretty great if just redone to some extent. I'll go through them in order
>Survivor
There's an ongoing fan remake using the PC version of RE2 as a basis, but this would be a great bite sized RE Engine VR game, and I don't know why Capcom hasn't attempted it. It has branching paths, recycles enemies from RE2, and its final lab area was basically copied for the remake of 3. They could probably make a full in house remake of it in a month and barely have to make any new assets.
>Survivor 2: CODE:Veronica
The arcade version is fine as is, but the console version has janky controls. Would be a nice replacement for a CV remake battle game, again it's first person and just recycles enemies and even whole cutscene animations.
>Dead Aim
Perfect as is.
>Gaiden
It already had a spiritual remake in Revelations, but that game sucked. Pretty sure it's getting a fan remake anyways though.
>Outbreak 1 and 2
Need modern online support, better load times, expanded inventory (I don't care, four slots is a meme and annoying), and voice chat. Admittedly, Resistance was Capcom's attempt at remaking it (it was even called Outbreakers internally)

That's about it. Rest are fine as is or would be bad no matter what.

Evidently our friends at TOSE were the ones who made the game, and according to PCgamingwiki, also ported it to PC.

Is the turn back on enemies thing real? I tried it out the first time I heard about it and the enemies most definitely attacked me.
No locational damage and animation made the game lose its potential cult status, surely it doesn't take a genius to figure out a good gun game needs to have SATISFYING SHOOTING... or at least copy Time Crisis or any of the other good lightgun games around.

Ironically enough this supposed 'lightgun' game controls best with a regular controller, even if the US version didn't remove guncon support the controls are awkward and if you have a less than ideal display like a flat CRT you have to crank brightness to the max for the lightgun to register being on-screen half the time.

>I tried it out the first time I heard about it and the enemies most definitely attacked me.

It definitely works on a lot of things, perhaps not on hordes of enemies

>Ironically enough this supposed 'lightgun' game controls best with a regular controller

I've tried both, with a pad the movement is good and the shooting sucks, with a gun the shooting is good and the movement sucks.

Maybe, but they need to add female zombies, a fixed camera angle like the old resident evil videogames and if possible, make the videogame longer(with more areas).
