Really would've been great. Even a Puzzle Fighter sequel would've been great. I also love vs. puzzle games.

I'm really grateful to have gotten to experience even the tail end of the arcade days, speaking as someone who was born in the latter half of the nineties. I would have loved to get to play 2D fighting games in arcades, but even playing just Tekken and Soul Calibur in arcades was an awesome experience.
I hope fighting games never lose their popularity with subsequent generations of video game enthusiasts. There were enough great titles released between 1991 and 2007 to keep a scene alive forever, or at least I would hope.
