Why the fuck do people want to ruin consoles for these shitty "portable" mods?

>> No.8835235

Who cares?

>> No.8835237

Because at the time they were cheap and readily available, now they are not.
Tons of systems were ruined with stupid mods and mods that were done by people not knowing what they were doing.

Why ruin controllers or keyboards with "mods"?
Should we take apart keyboards to make controllers with more inputs?

N64 doesn't even work as a handheld, it draws 19W, it will drain a laptop battery empty within an hour. This is an utterly useless mod only the dumbest idiots would buy or do when you could emulate the thing or attach a portable LCD screen at most.

Ruining a console that's long out of production is bad enough, but most of the time these shitty DIYers are not ruining A console, they are ruining TWO consoles because they need multiples of parts they either fuck up or want to separate out and reroute.

Ben Heck made a portable Atari then it turned into people one upping each other and taking on challenges for more complex hardware.

That's literally it. Made a portable Atari, got an appearance on Tech TV's The Screen Savers, was offered a book deal, and just kind of rode the fame from there and now just takes apart electronics for fun.
