Is it too old to connect any games to? Are there any adapters for the antenna thing?

>> No.8823468

>>8823459
You already have the adapter attached there (F-type to twin-lead), just hook up any console with RF, tune to channel 3, 4, or whatever and you'll be ready to roll.

>> No.8823469

>>8823458
Love the look of early 80s/70s shitbox sets. I'm a little jealous. The image quality is going to look like shit, as the thing will only take RF from that thing dangling from those two screws in the top left of the back. Get you an Atari, or if you are going for "poorfag in the 80s" aesthetics, an NES.

>> No.8823472

>>8823459
Just stick the RF switch for the console to the coax to lead adapter it already has and put it on channel 3/4. However this ancient hunk of shit will likely have awful picture quality and the only real use for it is attaching an Atari 2600 for period authenticity. Using a PS2 with this thing is a waste.

I know this TV. My dad had the exact same model. He used his Atari 800 and C64 with it. It didn't like the C64's video signal (the black level confused the tuner) so he had to use a RF stabilizer box.

If you don't have RF adapters for your consoles on hand then a VCR will do the trick yeah. If you have RF adapters, or an RF only console, you can plug right into the TV.

Probably not with Carter-era TVs, maybe low end Korean sets from the 90s that had RF only.

Sure, but the older sets were generally better tubes in my experience. The Sears Robuck TV I mentioned here >>8823473 had fantastic picture quality and beautiful color, really particularly good for RF. The 90s ones were shitboxes, though I definitely used a lot of those in the 90s...

I used to have one like this (not same model but close). Sears TV which was a rebranded Panasonic. It was made in 1978 and it sucked balls. If I had an Atari 2600 it would go nicely with that TV but I didn't.

OP's TV has an automatic vertical hold circuit. It's a late 70s design from when the TV industry was just starting to adopt integrated circuit-based chassis and there's no vertical hold knob. As a result you can't adjust the vertical hold if your computer or console has a nonstandard signal it can't grab onto and you get a rolling picture. That's what the stabilizer box was supposed to fix. The black level generated by the C64 was slightly off from the broadcast NTSC spec which caused problems.
