Why do people hate this game?

>> No.8819749

Because collect em ups are inherently bad. DK64 and this game just take the "genre" to its logical conclusion

>> No.8819750

It's too big, like collecting for collection's sake. Banjo Tooie and DK 64 embody how you can have too much of a good thing

>> No.8819856

Too big for its own good that it forced backtracking, even with the QoL teleports. Banjo-Kazooie was perfect in that almost every world could be collected and finished in 30-40 minutes in one-sitting; the only backtracking that would be involved would be getting the final moves around Bubblegoop Swamp, Gobi's Valley, and Freezezy Peak.

Open world sucks

People praise Sonic Adventure 2 and voted for the nazis. You can't trust people, OP.

they don't and it fuckin sure wasn't hated when it came out either. i'm guessing it's a forced meme from some youtuber on a crusade against collectathons, repeated by people who haven't played any Banjo game and are just pretending to have an emotional reaction to the le big sequel. all the arguments i've seen made against Tooie actually apply to DK64 and not this game

it's too good for them

>> No.8820007

I tried to play it about 10 years ago and from what I remember the levels were massive and empty and the frame rate was awful

>> No.8820025

>>8820007
thats basically what I remember aswell. I finished it and it was a good game but sometimes more != better.

>> No.8820052

Banjo-TooIe is rated poorly by people who don't want to expend much effort to be awarded things or to think critically. Basically they just want an easy straightforward experience with barely any challenge handed to them on a silver platter and dislike that Banjo-Tooie actually asks for some of the player's retention and treats the player like they have a fucking brain for a change.

i got a bit filtered as a kid
but i was also only 11 and trying to beat it during a weekend rental

Only linear games provide challenge. Travelling =/= gameplay.

>> No.8820104

I don't hate it I just don't like it that much. Way too much back tracking and mini games

>> No.8820510

Cuz they're retards who got filtered

I used to watch this cute girl on twitch who had epilepsy play it
I digress

This is it for me. Exactly why kazooie will always be better than tooie

Eurotrash

>> No.8820681

It's better than the first game, but demands a lot more investment. People who are simply curious or nostalgic for Banjo are better off playing the first game because it's a quick and easy experience.

For an adult with responsabilities? Its too big.
Back when I was 11 with nothing better to do and only a couple of new games every year? It was great.
Thats about it

after GGM, half the time i have no fucking idea what world the jiggy im obtaining even applies to. it's a fine game but they thought we wouldn't give a shit about stop n swop being a letdown, its flow is very wacky due to hopping between worlds, and the final boss battle is one of the dumbest in gaming history. you literally just walk in and blow her up.

>For an adult with responsabilities
I sometimes wonder if I do something wrong or actually right. Iam a middle aged man and I can easily find 4hours per day and 10+ on weekends to do whatever I want all while having a regular 8hour/day job and shopping/chores. how busy do you have to be to not be able to finish a 30-40hour game in the span of a month. are you literally a slave or whats the deal?
