What is your hi score in Donkey Kong? I want to get at least 100k or so. Recently started feeling like i'm not /vr/ enough if i don't have a score in this game.

I haven't played it in years, but this was my hi score, not 100k but kinda close.
It's the version on DK64 by the way.

I thought score-chasing didn't get interesting until we started having multipliers. Without that it's just an endurance run.

Mostly trying to get to the end, I only did a bit of extra points on 25m, but not much on the later levels as it's pretty dangerous.
Also, you can't abuse the glitch on 100m where you can jump besides DK to earn points on the DK64 version, maybe I would have a better hi score on the arcade version if I used that.

I never understood why people competed for scores. It's like, who cares who's best, it's just a game. Pretty much the same reason why I don't understand why fighting game tournaments are a thing.

It's like the Olympics. You're only as good as your competition, so you may be a gold medalist in the 300m sprint in 2020 but if you would have competed in 1996 you would have gotten your ass beat and placed last so ultimately there is no meaning to such rankings.
