Everything on PS looked like shit. Final Fantasy gave PS the fake name of looking good, it was all cutscenes. I loved Wipeout, but it looked like goddamn shit. It was the handling, the tracks, the music. All this blocky unstable shit. PS can get fucked. Compare Tenchu to Mario N64 and tell me ps isn't shit.

The sound quality was amazing, and better than some of the cd players at the time. So that's where I have to go back to George Lucas and his quote where he says: 'Sound makes up 70% of a movie'.

It changed the gaming industry forever for sure. And Nintendo is to blame for it.

Everything about Playstation was marketing. Sure if you release 200 games, there's bound to be 10 good ones in the bunch. And then Nintendo tried to do the same with Wii. God fucking dammit.

It lacks all games that don't have a translation like Harmful Park but keeps some Japanese games that are in English like Gradius Deluxe Pack.
Not saying they're is anything wrong with Japanese games, I just didn't include them on my PS Classic so they weren't in the notepad file I copy pasted.

PS1 hardware wasn't amazing at 2d, but it still came out in the prime years of 2d animation, and it had the specs and storage to display it well. Saturn was better at 2d but PS1 had more support. Of course 6th gen onward can make games look like playable cartoons, either in 2d or 3d, but 80s-90s style (either gritty industrial anime, or renaissance era Disney or Bluth) died out by then

I know picrel is a 3d game, but it's the 90s, and for gaming that style was best represented on 5th gen consoles
