This has to be the controller for a mainstream console ever, right? Holding it for more than 10 minutes is torture, the edges dig into your hands so bad. Good thing you can find adapters for cheap now.

>This has to be the controller for a mainstream console ever, right?

The what, best? Yeah definitely.

>Good thing you can find adapters for cheap now.

I got an adapter from RetroUSB to use my NES pads on emulation but with shipping and tax it cost me almost 30 bucks. No regrets though, though at first the thing was glitchy but now it seems to be fine, I have no idea what happened

It's one of the controllers of all time, but you might disagree

Don't grip it so hard, you spaz.
It's a great controller. Lightweight, responsive buttons, good d-pad, easy to maintain. Its only downside is the lack of inputs which limits its use with other systems.

The official "bone" controllers exist. They're also one of the mainstream controllers, ever.

Is it just me or has there been a huge increase in retards who don't proof-read their posts not just on 4chan, but everywhere on the internet in general? Is it the chemicals in the water or something?

> Its only downside is the lack of inputs which limits its use with other systems.

You can use it for PC Engine, SMS, plenty of handhelds; and even Sonic The Hedgehog.

Aesthetically pleasing? Why did controllers go away from being standard with designs like that on them? The NES controller just has that begging to be picked up feel that others don't, coming from someone who prefers later generation games.

>> No.8780114

>>8780095
Yes you can, but there's more systems that it isn't suitable for, which is why I said its use is limited.

Children detected. Every controller since has tried to improve upon the simplicity, functionality, and build quality of the American NES controller for 35 years and haven’t come close yet, not even Nintendo. Has there even been a recorded case of a broken NES controller in human history?

Somebody should bomb one to see if it holds better than the phat GB

Not going to lie, if some eceleb went over to Ukraine after the shit over there blows over and tested this with some of the UXO that they'll have lying around for a while, I'd be slightly amused.

OP is probably one of those Redditors that uses grips for his DS. Wish more electronics were hard squares instead of puss rounded versions

Definitely is the controller for a mainstream console. I can tell by the buttons.

Grew up playing with it from age 6, still play with it now at 36. Never once have I had a problem with it "digging into" my hands.

psx dualshocks were pretty bad as well. d-pads with split buttons that cut into thumb, mushy and non-responsive diagonals. it's hard as fuck to play well on my psx because of how bad the controller is

You can blame nintendo for that, they had a patent on the d-pad.

In retrospect the square edges were a mistake. I'm surprised no one at Nintendo played it and realized maybe smooth curves would be a more natural fit for human hands.

Play with an Intellivision controler without an overlay then say the NES's controller is shit. If you want le smooth SNES controller but on NES go for the 101's dogbone.
