Can't you just install an Amiga OS on your PC?

>> No.8772429

>>8772415
Not really. It is a prebuilt emulation machine anyway, so only if you want a collectible physical item that much.

fuck no. retrogames ltd are bunch of thieving con artists that consistently make trash.

Just buy some pre-owned PC/laptop, install WinXP/Win7 (depending on age), then WinUAE, then have it auto-boot into a fullscreen WinUAE.

none of these cheap china made knockoffs are worth it. that company sells nostalgia to boomers, that's it. an i am one myself but i am not moronic enough to fall for the nostalgia meme, just use a fucking emulator like a normal person, there is nothing more cringe than spending money for old ass hardware overpriced af or crap emulation boards like this

OP here
thanks for the opinions and suggestions, guys.
I never played Amiga games, despite remembering older cousins having a blast with it when I was much younger.
I'm checking out options to first approach its game catalogue, despite knowing many titles got DOS releases too.

The actual list of games for this mini is actually pretty good, might as well start from those.

Indeed, I also had in mind a bunch of titles, like Gods, or Dungeon Master.
Now what I have to do is to set up an emulation machine, but what I have at the moment are just my phone and a Dell laptop I use for work.

No, it only runs on the original 68k Amiga hardware or bizarre "custom" (dev board) PPC hardware. Not counting FPGAs or whatever, the the Amiga community is very weird so they've developed all sorts of odd stuff.

real amiga users don't give a shit about fpga garbage unless it's an accelerator card, even then: they're rarely utilized. a lot of new productions for amiga still target base models, such as A500/2000/3000 OCS/ECS with 512kb or 1mb of RAM because they are the only versions of amiga that actually matter. the most of what modern day amiga users do is spend thousands on an fpga accelerator just so they can run benchmarks and post screencaps/photos on facebook. it's because of these failures that the amiga scene is dead.

Why the fuck not just make a full sized one with a working keyboard. Just make a reproduction. Not this overpriced fucking trash I can just do with a rpi or retroarch.

Oh I'm well aware.

the laptop should be more than enough but if you really want your own gay little emulation machine, you can find old small form factor desktops (mid to late 2010s) on craigslist/offerup/fb marketplace/etc for very cheap
they're probably overkill for this purpose but not much point in getting anything lower end imo
