I always enjoyed the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA, if only for the RyokoXTenchi relationship. The idea that she was bested and sealed by his grandfather, but spends every day in joy watching him grow up, eventually falling for him as she looks out for him is so unbelievably cute and appealing for a romance story.
And that entire scene with Kagato and thinking he's dead, or her holding back to spare Mihoshi. All just good narratives for her character.

It was just a bit sad to see her lose that backstory/connection with the other variants.

I've always thought the N64 stick sucks shit and this game really cemented that opinion for me
Also got a theory that the only reason it has remained so obscure on the N64 is because of the name. There's no widely used naming scheme for it since the romanization has a dozen slightly different ones and the early pirate releases just literally made up a new name for it.

Kiyone really is the most realistic option for Tenchi. But she doesn't really show much interest in him.

The original series were OVAs, theres 3, the third ruins everything by trying to shoehorn some dumb NGE-like ending. Avoid it. Watch the first 2 OVAs, then Universe, then Tokyo, then Forever. You can check out the Pretty Sammy mini series anytime too. If you like Tenchi stuff, the go check out El Hazard.

Yes indeed, it was a matured and forlorn look at Tenchi. But I think the underlying purpose of that movie was really to explore the relationship between Ryoko and Ayeka, to show show their closeness that developed, through their pursuit of his love.

N64 emulation is great these days and the only people who are going to tell you to use Project64 are completely out of date and misinformed, genuinely retarded, or have derelict hardware that doesn't support Vulkan or run Mupen at full speed. Or they play ROM hacks that only work on PJ64
