Sega's response to Pilotwings.
Not quite as good but still an interesting piece of history.
Why did arcade-y flight/aereal sims stopped being a thing?

On a scale from 0 to 10, how would you rate this game? And Pilotwings?

Pilotwings I'd say it's at least a 7, maybe an 8.
Racing Aces is a 4.

I'd really like to see somebody make a modern stunt pilot oriented flight sim. We have infinite combat and transport focused sims to choose from, but nobody seems interested in making an aerolympics competition game.

This wasn't bad, actually. Though not the polygon flight-sim like the Genesis supported.

Mig-29 Fulcrum was good, and F22 Interceptor.

Was cancelled because you could fly into a building, or something.

Dreamcast also has Aerowings which as far as I can tell is entirely doing stunts in fighter jets. I went through the whole tutorial waiting for missiles to show up, but they never did.

I wish sega wasn't going through a shitty pop punk phase in the late 90s. That music sucked major sack then and it sure as shit sucks donkey ass now. I play Crazy Taxi on mute.

So you don't play Crazy Taxi. Also it's not pop punk.

No it didn't since it came late. But it's actually fun. Optics make me very nostalgic for mid-late 80s Apple stuff.

I wanted to know the name of that style. Do you know what is it?

The Offspring circa 98/99 are literally pop punk

Just punk rock. If anything it could be more specified as skate punk.

>>8708393
The music in Crazy Taxi 1 is from 96-97. Offspring had some hits by then but I wouldn't call Ixnay on the Hombre (the album that all of their tracks in Crazy Taxi come from) pop punk, at least compared to what later came out from Fall Out boy, blink-182, Sum 41, etc.

Basado.
