That's exactly how I feel about it. I also didn't want to buy clones before the invasion and I'm certainly not going to use this situation as an excuse to change my mind.
I've got a Super CD-ROM2 that's still in good shape along with a small collection of games for it and don't really feel like I'm missing anything from the SuperGrafx lineup, so I just went with the EverDrive.

A mapper is a chip that allows the NES to see beyond the initial 40kb that early games made use of. In European and American markets, you only had about a dozen or so mappers - NROM, CNROM, UxROM, MMC1, MMC2, MMC3, MMC5, MMC6, Rare's AxROM, and Sunsoft's FME-7, not counting the unlicensed mappers from Tengen, Color Dreams, and Camerica. Now in Japan, every company made their own subtly different, game specific mappers, with varying features and subtle differences. The Japanese mappers are what's the huge pain in the ass - in fact, Nintendo's own MMC4 and MMC6 were specific variants of the MMC3 used exclusively in the Famicom Wars and Startropics games. And then there's a whole world of Chinese bootleg mappers, again which are specific, and often cost reduced, versions of existing mappers.

From what I see Russia isn't interested in destroying Ukraine, as they would've done so already. What will happen is either A) Russia convinces the Ukrainian government to meet their demands (or at least reject NATO membership) or B) the invasion costs Russia far more than what it's worth and they retreat. For what it's worth, Russia's got Venezuela, PRC, and Cuba on their side, so there's also a chance of a new 'Soviet Union', perhaps that's what Putin wants. The SHVC runs official games fine but my fxpak has that horizontal line issue, the later gen one doesn't have that issue at all and runs games from the fxpak fine. Can you also check the system info setting on the FXPak menu to see what CPU and PPU revisions you have? Googling seems to bring up people having similar issues.
