What are some retro incarnations of card and board games?
Does it get any better for cards than Hoyle?

I really liked mahjong on the same when I had it. Plus Hoyle on win98 was really fun.

Played Virtual Pool on N64 recently, and was pretty impressed by that, except for the fact that there's no AI, and you have to play it against another person. It feels almost exactly like the really good Yakuza Pool.

I always like Blackjack games (especially the hentai ones since of all gambling games blackjack is the only one I really consider to be fun)

>The Chessmaster Died in 1997. The man who portrayed the wizard-like Chessmaster in that iconic photograph was an actor named Will Hare, who appeared in over 50 film and TV roles between 1948 and 1997.

I remember there was a weird phase of PS1 pool games that tried to be "cool." I remember a bunch being on the OPSM demo discs.

the only reason I learned how to play chess was because of Battle Chess on the Amiga, although its a terrible way to learn how to play because you care more about seeing a new animation kill than any kind of strategy.

Is Chessmaster 4000 the last one by the original developers?
As much as I love the massive tutorials and learning sections of later ones, there's something about the purity of those old ones.

Wasn't Lego Chess running on the Chessmaster engine? I know Hoyle's Majestic Chess did.
That's a fun game.
