It messes with the level design in some minor ways, like those crusher pillars in castles are stupidly easy to dodge now, and the underwater torpedo launchers are on screen longer so they shoot more often. Also you can jump off of the platform at the final boss.
But otherwise it's still really cool and well made. It's worth trying at least once.
