I just labelled my PS1 burnt discs with a sharpie pen. Is it going to ruin them?

>> No.8669469

I did that for years and never had any problems.

>I just labelled my PS1 burnt discs with a sharpie pen

Why? I once did that to a Linkin Park CD and it ruined a couple of songs. But that was like 20 years ago.

Dumb frogposter.

I used to carve them with a compass. You know, just so it doesn't wear off.

Fuck off, frogposting retard.

Why'd you do that if you suspected it'd ruin the discs?

A PS1 that can't read discs isn't a PS1, it's an abomination.

Internal HDD on a fat or SMB on a slim is pretty great as is, really. I've never looked into it myself, but I've also seen someone post an image on here of some sort of small router with a USB drive plugged into it that they were basically able to use as an external hard drive for their slim. Looked pretty cool.

As long as you put the sharpie in your pooper they'll be fine

I have PS1 games labelled with sharpie from 1999 that still work fine

nah softmods kind of suck, I don't like the ps2 menu being changed
also they're a pain in the arse to do compared to a bit of soldering

>> No.8669745

>>8669727
I have no qualms with soldering but I prefer to leave my consoles physically unmodified unless they need repairs, so I'll take a softmod over a hardware mod any day of the week. I don't really find anything about softmodding annoying, personally

I grew up with a modded ps1 so its impossible for me to imagine playing actual real ps1 games on my ps1
whenever I think ps1 games I just think of a memorex cd with SPYRO written on it

That works well. You can also roll your own. I've built them from scratch and used cheap SBCs. This is something a Pi is actually good for.

>>8669727
Technically, plugging in a memory card is adding hardware, so you can pretend it's a hardware mod and stop pretending other things.
