Bedtime story is a great way to put it. One of my all time favorites.
The sequel is also a fantastic platformer and gorgeous but the story is a let down and I prefer to think of Klonoa as a stand alone.
The puzzle gba games are fun too, was hugely let down when I realized what they were but ended up 100%ing both, such fun puzzles.

On the one hand, I'm happy that Klonoa is getting another shot and that people will be able to play what appears to be a remastering of the Wii version and a remaster of Klonoa 2. But man, I'm just so bummed that it's not the PS1 version. It has such a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic that the Wii version did not transfer over to the Wii port as well as it could have. Klonoa 2 remaster looks a lot more faithful, but also like they're cranking the colours up to 11 and adding bloom to everything.

Oh well, hopefully the collection makes some people seek out the original PS1 version at least, it's such a great experience.

That's one of the reasons it's such a great game. Aside from being an incredibly tight 2.5D platformer it also gets stupidly heavy around the mid point, and especially the ending.

It's an unlockable costume once you beat the Wii ver.
The devs are using the Wii ver. of Klonoa 1 and the PS2 ver. of 2 as bases for the remaster. I'm glad they're making his original outfit the default (which it should've been from the start) since I don't like the modern design being in the first game because it clashes weirdly with the world.
I wonder if they'll keep, redo or throw out the old English voices.
