OP here, I would say 15/30. The remaining 15 I chose were games I haven't played, but understand are considered great (Gran Turismo 3, Max Payne) or games I personally dislike, but understand are massively influential regardless of my opinion (Grand Theft Auto III, Halo: Combat Evolved).
Personal biases aside, I do think it was one of the best years for games and certainly the best of the 2000s in terms of quality and impact.
