They're good, but not as good as the NES ones. V is pretty close though.

1 is good for it's time, 2 is pretty bad, 3 is a step in the right direction, and 4 & 5 are great. Some of the best games on the original GB.

Really sucks that the collection for them got canned. I had to go out and buy 'em all, which took awhile.

I wish someone would take the time to properly remix the music from the GB version of MM2, because some of those tunes are SO GOOD, but the sounds are off.

This guy made them more NES-esque, and they sound pretty good.

Not as good as Mega Man on the Game Gear.

>> No.860462

Only one I liked was 5. The other 4 feel very lazy with their reusing of robot masters and level gimmicks, and the small GB screen just makes them feel too cramped for my tastes.

MM on Game Gear sucked too. Again it's just a lazy cobbling of MM4 and 5 but you can't see shit because of the screen.

>> No.860476

Now that they've put 1-6 of the NES games on the VC, can they finally do more than just the first of the GB games?

Anyway, only played 1, 3, and 5

Game Gear MM was light years better than any of the GB games. People need to stop bitching about the screen scrolling. Not even a remotely valid argument as it doesn't truly make the game more difficult.

Rockman World 5 is the best 8-bit Mega Man.

They've lost source codes to most of the GameBoy games.

V on GB is so much better than the Game Gear game it's not even funny.

I am convinced that people that say stuff like this have either never played the originals or are sega fan boys. The music is awful and the scrolling is awkward and stomach churning.

damn, that sucks. Would they be able to 'reverse engineer' the source from ROMs?

I'm watching a longplay of this, and the music reminds me of Amiga games, thou less in quality. The scrolling is the same they used in Zero series, the positioning and screen resolution is just different, so people are double standarding dicks with this. Looks a good game otherwise.

I think CoA tried doing that, but they had no know-how to do it and opted to let Mega Man Mania die out.

That's actually incredibly shitty. I guess this means we'll likely never see all 5 released officially again. I would have bought them if they all made it to the 3DS, but if all we're getting is Wily's Revenge I'm just emulating them.

>> No.860572

>>860568
Chances of getting the rest of them very close to nil, so I agree with the emulation option.

Yes, not being able to see what's ahead in a reflex-based game doesn't add to the difficulty at all.

no it's not, it's much jerky and harder to look at

The scrolling is pretty much the only thing I dislike about the Zero series.

I agree. Zero games would have been phenomenal with traditional Mega Man scrolling.

I have the first megaman gameboy game.
I like it but i feel like its the megaman 1 game on the nes.
It needs a lot more polishing.

It's pretty decent considering that the dev team didn't know about the franchise before getting the job.

>> No.860802

>>860796
Oh i didn't know that.
Is that where is their a random wily stage after the first 4 bosses?
I know some later megaman games like 7 & 8 did that but i don't think they did by the time that game come out.

>> No.860816

>>860802
Yeah, it was the first game that do that. Mega Man 2 was handled by complete idiots of Biox who were worse than MM1 team, so for MM3 Capcom went back to the first team because they had put more effort into the MM1. This proved pretty damn good move, as Minakuchi Engineering developed the rest of the Game Boy games, as Mega Man IV and V are their best games. They also developed Mega Man X3, which explains why it feels a bit odd compared to the rest of the SNES X-series games.
