About to be faced with having to get rid of a lot of the collection. How do i decide what to keep?

I collect some things purely as a speculative profit center to fund other collecting interests. For me it's just a way to use my knowledge of trends and prediction leading to making money on collectibles which I have no real interest in. It's kind of how certain people will buy thousands of dimes to search for error dimes, they will sort and figure out how to make money on a large bulk buy but they don't care about the bulk of the dimes they get. Sell all games, keep all consoles and controllers, buy flashcarts and ODE's. You drop a lot of excess plastic, and you not only have access to all your old games, you now have access to all the games. It's what I did, and I've never looked back.

I guess if you have some high value stuff you can unload quickly it might be worth selling them. That wasn't an issue/option for me as it was 1990 and prices were very different and there was no craigslist, etc. But even now, unless you have a massive collection or some exceptionally valuable stuff it's not worth the hassle.
