it's also got carnival night zone for the art. at first i thought its a little weird of a choice but then i realized, this was the final zone of the cartridge for many kids so it does make sense. eu sega knew.

It's sad really. I'm still shocked to know Chrono Trigger was never released outside Japan and America until the DS port. Turns out videogames weren't as great as they should've been over there compared to JP and US, I feel. I might try some pal conversions for novelty because I like easier games.

It was usually just JRPGs that didn't get brought over. I wasn't old enough to enjoy RPGs before Pokemon came out. So didn't affect me

Also people generally preffered Mega Drive in my experience, so Chrono Trigger wouldn't have even been mentioned in my circle

It wasn't as bad if you had a Mega Drive. We get the cooler design for the console (even better than the japanese one) and cartridges. Yes, they run slower, but because you didn't know, you enjoyed it anyway because the games were playable.

PAL often feels more classy while american cover art have that feeling of something cheap you win in mcdonalds happy meal. Renovation games cover for example (those differ from japanese I know but still good example).
