They watched a youtube essay on the deep intricacy of Kojumbo's genius and anything that dares change the slightest hair of MGS1's immaculate cinematic blahblahblah is shitty poo that makes them seethe into a mad frenzy where they're possessed to make at least three threads on Twin Snakes per week.

See also: Zoomers watching "It's no masterpiece" clickbait videos on Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario 64, etcetera, then robotically being compelled to echo and parrot the youtuber's every talking point to /vr/ of all places, while calling GCCX threads "eceleb trash" as if their interests are better.

In other words they're internet webcrawling bots made to shill youtube videos but rather than a server farm in Israel they're flesh and bone and no opinions of their own. Joyless zombies starved of any free will, only being allowed to think what someone on a glowing screen tells them to. Dead internet theory is real, and so are NPCs. Does this actually make people mad? It's Otacon trying to sound deep when Snake's just confirming he needs to shoot it in the mouth because it has a stupid weak point that Otacon should have been beaten for adding in the first place

>> No.8517267

My issue with the game is one I never see anyone but me bring up, and it's that the game's mechanical pacing is ruined in TS. In the original game your max health and ammo capacity increase with each boss beaten, giving the feeling that you're getting stronger with each step taken and thus now can handle enemies that are tougher. In TS you start with what is your max in the PS1 version, so it makes the first half of the game a complete cakewalk even if you ignore the first-person shooting simply because Snake can take way more damage than he's supposed to at that point.

It’s not a remake but a remix. Remake tries to be like the original and maybe improve on it. This remake obviously re-imagined the game using the source material for its base. Strange take you got there. I was introduced to MGS with the original, but I never quite grasped the hatred for the Twin Snakes.
I remember all those dedicated fan-sites berating it not so much for the new mechanical additions, but for "ruining" the grounded realism of the original (MGR was originally bashed by these people for the same reasons). Kojima himself went this route with MGS3 and that was his peak in terms of camerawork and cinematography.
When I tried to sell MGS1 to my friends at high-school, most of them found its visual aesthetic to be dated and ugly, but they could tolerate the remake. And while the new mechanics can break the games balance, it still can be played like the original. For me it seems that most of us Zoomers prefer the Twin Snakes to the original.
That said, I find most of its new music to be kinda boring and shallow.

Kinda ironic, considering it was Kojima's idea to make the cutscenes cuh-razy for Twin Snakes. Originally Ryuhei Kitamura wanted to just do a shot-to-shot remake of MGS1, but Kojima said "nah! Why would I hire the guy who did Versus if he's not going to do any of the crazy stunts he's known for?"

(>>8516257 >>8517975) Most of the stuff that got rewritten/retranslated were one-liners and stuff that didn't affect the main story anyway. However, Liquid Snake still makes a reference to Big Boss being in a coma in TTS, a slip-up that was also went unnoticed the Integral version of MGS1 (which had relocalized Japanese subtitles for the English dub).
