How come N64 is known for its huge racing games library but none of them beat Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Ridge Racer Type 4, Need for Speed High Stakes and Wipeout 3? People also claim CTR as the best cart racer of it's era which I haven't played much to confirm but still, isn't this embarrasing from the N64 library point of view?

>> No.8507682

You can only do so much with 64MB. Driver World Championship is their answer, and they simply didn't have space for the content.

Mk64 is better than ctr. See block fort 4 player for proof. But saturn Sega Rally is better than all of those games you listed. N64 is a party console and outside of multiplayer games its not good.

Sega Rally is legendary but it is basically outdone by GT1 in the "arcade drifting with semi realistic handling" category.

Collectathons are good, and that's 25% of 64's library. It's also got single-player really good FPSs and puzzle games. N64's got several shit games on it, too, but stop with the console warring circlejerk.

The series is a "kinda more serious" one, but it's miles away from being a sim.
Real sims are series like Rfactor, Assetto Corsa and Richard Burns and shit.
In fact, mostly only Rfactor 1 and 2 are actual sims.

2. 1 is nice to experience, so is 3 but that one has the issues of races that last way too long. 4 feels more like a car collection game than a racing one, but the challenges are cool.
