I had this happen to me real bad a few months ago when I played Spartan Total Warrior. There's a part where you're in some castle and you get locked in a pit with infinitely respawning zombies that you have to fight until the door open for you, and I couldn't figure out what the fuck the trigger to the door opening was. The FAQ I found didn't even mention that part it was literally just "continue to the next area"
