Are you referring to the Phoenix Cave and Kefka's Tower later on? The Phoenix Cave can be turned into a one-party area with the Moogle Charm. As for Kefka's Tower, just make sure all your characters have decent equipment (look up some character setup guides for this) and split your main party members across the parties. The dungeon is easy enough that even at level 45ish they ought to be able to carry a party with two or three neglected characters around level 30 or so.

>> No.8502463

>>8502376
This is why I didn't finish the game. I've beaten it 3 or 4 times, but this most recent playthrough I chose to minmax a single ultimate party of 4. Was able to cheese my way through these "RTS" segments, but Kefka's Tower is raping my B-teams.

So put one or two of your badasses in each team. If you're playing the vanilla SNES version, abuse the shit out of MBlock to make near-unkillable characters. Terra, Celes, Edgar, Locke, and Relm can max out MBlock, and Strago and Gogo nearly do so as well. Other characters need a Merit Award to do the same.

Is it possible to do that while also being at minimum levels and without learning magic? I know the latter two are doable and can even be done together, but I don't think I've heard of a CES low-level natural-magic game. I'd imagine it comes down to exploiting bugs like crazy, though.

imagine playing more than 3 jrpgs and stil buying into the grinding meme. I pick my favorites and don't do anything for any other party member. do you know why? because once you need a neglected member in your team you just have them survive a few fights and they catch up with everyone else in 2 seconds because of how many XP they're getting. Then you head to the nearest town and buy them the latest best gear because you can just buy that whenever. Enjoy wasting days upon days killing slimes so your party members' levels are even though

1. It's easy.
2. You can have one wrecking ball team of 4 with your strongest and then put the rest of the teams on duty to stand in front of Banon.

You do not have to actually use the otehr members.

>> No.8511779

>>8508972
Yeah I think OP is full of shit because there really is no 'main' party at this point and you're always going to have Sabin, Cyan and Gau at higher levels than everyone else unless you grind.

>> No.8511998

Forcing you to take specific party members and restricting using certain members is one of the worst crimes JRPGs commit and prevents me exploring more of the genre.

If I don't give a fuck about half the characters, I'm not going to use them. Making me use characters I don't give a fuck about is just poor design- Especially if they don't have the common decency to give you SOME reason to care at all. See: Aramant in FFIX. This is true in wRPGs too, but in those games you can just leave the ones you don't give a fuck about on the sidelines. You chose the party members you actually like.

jRPGs (actually, you could argue Japanese games in general) just tend to offer very little player choice; you are solving a puzzle with only a few minor permutations. Japanese people are culturally autistic, so their games are very rigid. This is why western autists are so often drawn to weeb shit.

It happens at least once in every jRPG I've ever played, and usually for some contrived story reason that rarely makes much sense or adds anything to the overall narrative.

(Although frankly the overall narrative is usually trash tier shonen garbage anyway.)

>> No.8512229

I would still say most useful rather than most powerful, as several characters have attacks and spells that easily hit the 9999 damage cap or can be grinded to do so well before getting to high levels (Ark, Thievery, Dragon's Crest, Frog Drop, etc.). The Quina difference is she has several high-utility spells such as Mighty Guard, Angel's Snack and Auto-Life on top of that.

I beat Dark Souls when I was 9. Beating a game as a kid doesn't mean jack all. However, OP is still an idiot. FF3 is pretty easy and the most difficult parts would be if you don't have the right relics equipped in that dream sequence.

The problem isn't the difficulty. It's that it's literally a pain in the ass to switch party members because there's a half dozen different equips and the game constantly screws with your active roster. Not to mention chasing everyone around on the airship. You can tell this was the first FF that let you swap party members freely. They didn't figure out an elegant way to do it yet.

Make your party for the next part (Celes, Locke, Edgar, Sabin)
Have the leftover 2-3 people stand in front of Banon
Walk back and forth with the good party and kill all the imperials as they enter in slow fucking motion.
I never actually use 3 parties in this part. It's just easier to Bioblaster/FireDance everything.
