Do you collect any amount of back up controllers? If so, how many of a specific controller would you say is too much?

>>8495269
the maximum amount of players +1

What if you are just using them for yourself? Also, would you value N64 controllers over dreamcast ones?

4. One to play on, one to play with (as in just click it for fun before sleeping), one to look at and one to chew on a bit during hard games

>> No.8495430

If the failure rate is going to be 1 per 15 years, you need one for 15 year span until you die and no less than that number.
If the failure rate is 1 per < 5 years, play better consoles.

lol did you ever own a DC there are are a few great games than need a VMU per save.

Have a spare N64 controller is obligatory for the stick alone.

Otherwise, I have a small collection of NES dogbones, because I really like them for some reason.

I've just resigned to buying chink knockoffs. The ones I've used have different joystick internals that I'm sure aren't 1:1 to the original, but then again neither are the worn-to-shit ones I've had since we got the console. I'd like to try that epoxy bowl repair someday, but the new controllers are working well for now.

Dogbone is cool, but I can't see myself using it over the original NES controller.

You can never have enough. I'm saving up so me and 3 of my friends can finish a game of mario party. I have it on good authority from several poor angry children that mario party causes controllers to burst in to flames faster than a 3v flash cart on a 5v console. So I'm waiting until the box is full before we give it a try.

How much did you pay for yours? I currently have two, but think having a total of four would be ideal. If you buy them online, then what do you look for in a listing regarding the stick or pictures?

Can you really call them "spares" when bomberman exists?

How many of those are actually good controllers? I've got5 shit n64 controllers if you want to waste some more space

>> No.8496116

>>8495914
Most of those came as parts of sets. Allowing ¥500 for the console, max ¥100 per controller.

>>8496015
All tested good. It's very uncommon to get bad controllers here. I think I've seen maybe 5 bad out of the hundreds of controllers we've tested. It's not even worth the effort to fix them.

I ended up getting two n64 controllers for $40. I feel like $20 per controller is a good price for any controller at that generation plus.

I've got a pile of super Famicom controllers. Most have issues though. I try to keep at least four controller for most systems.
