I've never played a worse game for rubber banding than Mario Kart. It's made even worse with how much you get fucked over with the weapons.

mario kart it's somewhat understandable for me, gran turismo 2 it's just infuriating
having a 400+ horsepower car and still having kei cars on your tail

GT2 is the best racing game of all time. The sheer amount of cars, the detailed write-ups on each of them, better customization than later games for some reason, it just had a superior feel. Only thing the newer games have on it are better graphics and slightly better engine / vehicle noises but only for some cars.

It's a keeper.

Wipeout 3 isn't bad but it's too annoying to be the best. NFS2 HP and some of the Ridge Racer games are good as well.

But GT2 has everything. Including bugs!

mate I'm a top 5 driver in the assetto corsa server I frequent which is one of the biggest ones around so I'd say I'm at least half decent
racing games are all I play, gt2 rubber banding is ridiculous with the other cars suddenly gaining 300 horsepower when you're in first and you have to deal with them dive bombing you when you should be well ahead of them

its not that I don't win the races in gt2 it's just that I don't have fun
I completed it as a kid so I acknowledge it's not that difficult, I just hate the rubber banding it feels so cheap
