Yep, still have mine.

I may be showing my age here but did anyone else find these games scary as hell? Exploring dark areas and being attacked by enemy robots, dangerous animals, or aggressive blocks in a 3D environment scared the shit out of me as a young kid. Croc was sick though.

I understand about IQ that was some intense shit, very innovative puzzle game.
I remember playing the net yaroze games on the demos, some of them creeped me out when i was young.

I also still have mine. OPM issue 25 was the first one which I bought

I had that exact demo disc. Was based, made me fall in love with Intelligent Cube.

Sometimes it felt better than actual full games. Strangely, I had a demo with IQ and Fighting Force on it but the earliest issue I've ever owned was 4.

Even so i could pirate the games for psx, thanks to the demos i bought many good games. Why did they stop making demos?

I remember some awful FPS net yaroze game that was creepy as fuck. Wandering around some endless dark cave and some zombie things would jump out and make a horrible noise

That would be Clone.
Shit was fucked.

That's it! I'm sure I still have my demo discs somewhere, gonna hunt for them later and see if its as disturbing as I remember

I got my PS1 in June 97. Didn't get a single game until Christmas. Demo discs kept me going during that time.

I played the absolute FUCK out of these two particular discs.

I honestly remember the discs more for the music that was in each of the games. Stuff like Dub Pistols, Zen Guerilla, Stun's Theme from Bloody Roar 2, and of course, Ridge Racer Type 4's soundtrack which in the demo was a few tracks chopped together into little chunks and changed with each lap. Helps that the menu theme for '99 was a banger.
